We are committed to sustaining a supportive community that offers educational and recreational opportunities for individuals with spinal cord injuries and related neurological diseases. Together we provide emotional support for families and friends, as well as promoting community awareness and the prevention of spinal cord injuries. Now you may go out to the Maumee Fraternal Order of Eagles Hall located at 2301 Detroit Ave. in Maumee. They will take place on the second Thursday of each month from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. TARPS does go there if you need transportation. The BG Social hour has changed to the second Tuesday of each month and stars at 6:00PM. Heroes of Toledo FundraiserOn Tuesday, April 7, 2009 from 6:00pm-8:00pm Heroes of Toledo will be holding a fundraiser for the Toledo Raptors wheelchair sports team, part of NWONSCIA. The Northwest Ohio National Spinal Cord Injury Association is an organization that provides support for individuals and families that are dealing with the effects of neruo and spinal injuries/diseases. All proceeds from the Open Play event that evening will go to the organization. Fishing Without BoundariesNWONSCIA Fishing Trip to Port Clinton on Thursday, August 21, 2008. Everyone arrived at the docks by 7:30am for a day of fishing on the "Irish Drifter" Captain Taylor and First Mate Dillion went out of their way to make sure that our trip was a very memorable event. We couldn't have asked for better weather and the water was calm. After we were settled in and the poles went into the water it didn't take long for the fish to start nibbling. Participants included Sean and Jack Burrell, and Sean's Dad; Hank and his parents Nona and Hank; Alicia and her Dad Roger; Ginny and Mark; Marcella, John Jack and their son Shawn; Deb and Steve; Zena and Kalee.
